The Balancing Act

Life + Procuring work + Wedding planning = The great balancing act.

The important thing here is that these are all wonderful things that I have to deal with. Often, when you have so much going on you feel completely overwhelmed, and that’s ok. I know that I, for one, haven’t been doing the best job of balancing all of this. I’ve slowed down my work procurement because I’ve had some things going on in life that were happening, and life got slowed down because I’m getting married in less than 75 days. If you’ve ever planned a wedding, then you know what I’m going through.

If you haven’t planned a wedding, then let me tell you – from the outside, it looks simple enough. Phone calls, order invitations, flowers, dress, suit, guests, food. Right? Very straightforward. Until you realize that every little tiny thing you do is a variable.

It’s not a set course. It’s a straight up system of variables designed to make your hair fall out.

I wasn’t intending on writing an entire blog about my upcoming wedding, but it’s really hard to not have wedding brain so close to the actual event. In reality, I’m way ahead of schedule, in my brain I’m 5 years behind.

So how am I balancing this with work? Easy. I’m prioritizing. The life stuff that slowed me down got sorted, and work is once again reclaiming its rightful place at the top of the list. Granted, life should always come first, but you can’t have a life without work.

I just wanted to update and get some thoughts out – nothing major, but it’s important to me that I stay active with this blog and my art. Therefore, I made this little wedding picture because I can’t stop thinking about it and it’s all consuming. So now it’s a blog post, and this is how I’m forcing my brain into balancing – merging work and wedding.

Having said that, I’m open for work, so if you (or anyone you know of) needs a logo, website, or anything else, shoot me a message and lets get you taken care of. Take my mind off of this and let me think about work.

Peace, love, and much needed sanity.
