Design Projects – One of my Favorites

This is one of my favorite design projects that I’ve gotten to do recently. It’s part of the logo for King and Queen of Halloween and while it took me a while, it was extremely fulfilling. Overall I’d say it took about 4-5 hours to get it all done.

It’s not often that I get to actually DRAW. Don’t get me wrong, graphic design is drawing, but when it comes to actually sitting down to do detailed, shaded work and get to focus on those details, it’s a lot of fun.

My preferred method of drawing (like this anyway) is on actual paper with markers and pencils and pens. I have a not-so-secret love of office supplies. I hoard pens like they’re about to be confiscated by the government alongside anthropomorphized computers with long scary arms. Suddenly I know what my next cartoon design project will be.

Lately I’ve been getting more into the cartoon design aspect of things. I haven’t gotten to do as much as I’d like, so I’m going to start spending my free time doing just that. Honing my skills, getting better and better. Who knows, maybe I’ll finally start that comic I’ve been wanting to start.

I’m going to stop saying maybe and just do it.

I always find it easy to come up with things to want to do, but not always so easy to actually do them – at least not when it’s for yourself. It’s much easier for me to design for other people than it is for myself, so I tend to put my own endeavors to the side. It’s easier to wait until inspiration hits me. That’s how I feel about graphic design projects in general – it’s easier to wait than to jump. Luckily, if you’re in that position with your business/website/design needs, I’m ready to jump if you are. Like I said – easier to design for others!

I hope you enjoy the dragons – I know I loved making them. And while you’re at it, head on over and check out their website.
